TER voluntarily blocked access from the United States in April 2018 after FOSTA-SESTA passed, and restored US access on 19 December 2019. It was named – but not charged – in the July 2018 superseding federal indictment against Backpage, which alleged a reciprocal-link arrangement between the two sites.
So no, the FBI didn't seize or shut down TER. The site is listed as active and is still online in 2026.
Can a provider get an inaccurate or fabricated review removed?
On TER, firsthand accounts published by Longreads describe it as very difficult. One provider's review described services she doesn't offer, and her removal request was turned down. The reviews are the product, so there's little reason to take them down.
On TrystHub there's a clear report and appeal process. Reviews are moderated against published content rules, and a provider can dispute one through support and get a decision from a human. Moderation isn't perfect anywhere. But a listing you control plus a way to challenge content puts you in a very different position.
Does TrystHub publish reviews without the provider's consent?
